A Couple of Announcements....

I just love announcing stuff. In fact, I wish more excitement happened in my life so I could do it more often!

Here goes......

Announcement #1:

I.

Am.

Going.

Back.

{to Uganda!}

Yep, I'm going back. Nope, we're not adopting again (yet.)

I am going with a team of gals from Sixty Feet in June. This trip is an important part of my job as Child Sponsorship Coordinator. A lot of work goes in behind the scenes of child sponsorship and there are some specific things I need to do in country for the program, such as....

- Meeting with each sponsored child and completing an annual report for their sponsor, detailing their academic and personal progress.

- Assessing the needs of each child and making any necessary changes to better meet those needs.

- Meeting with new interns in country - one of which will be working specifically on sponsorship with me (thank you, Jesus!) and hammering out details regarding the program.

- Evaluate situations of children still in the remand homes to determine who is eligible for sponsorship.

- Serving at the remand homes alongside our staff . This is one of my favorite things to do! I love worshipping with the kids, praying with them and playing cards with them (those kids play some cards, let me tell ya!)

Okay, wow, I'm a little overwhelmed after typing that! I'll only be there 7 days and that's a lot of work to get done.

Now onto announcement #2.....
Being that I just love fundraising so so so much we're still what I call post-adoption po' I decided to get creative to raise the funds for this trip. I've been working hard the last month or so and am so excited to announce the opening of my little shop -

Here's a little taste of what you'll see there -

Handmade BY ME hoop earrings! That's right, I got all kinds of creative with my jewelry makin' skills and came up with these. A girlfriend of mine had them at Created for Care and I knew I must find a way to replicate them. After some late nights, swearing and blood, I give you......earrings!

And who DOESN'T need more beads?! These are especially special because they were made by and bought from the girls I am going to serve on this trip. Isn't that rad?

250 items sold from my shop will fund my trip!

Okay, so what are you waiting for?? Getouttahere and go check out my shop! {Oh, and if you love me, which I know you all do, I would love you back forever and a day if you shared my shop on your social networks!}

  5. I just wanna say I LOVE the earrings. I'm currently living in South Sudan and have many bracelets and necklaces made from the paper beads but hadn't found earrings I liked, yet. I LOVE those! Good luck on your fundraising and I'll be praying for the trip.
